R S Mahala

Dr. R S Mahala has over 32 years of research experience in one of the largest and leading multinational organization. He was a commercial Pearl millet breeder and research leader at Dupont Pioneer (Now Known as Corteva Agrosciences) and from 2007 onwards also lead the cotton breeding program at Dupont Pioneer in addition to Pearl Millet.
He has to his credit 25 industry leading hybrids in the past 20 years. Dr R S Mahala was a key team member which ensured DuPont Pioneer’s sustained dominance in Pearl millet for over 2 decades. He also has demonstrated success in setting up and managing multi-crop research centres across South Asia. He has many awards, recognitions and publications to his credit, Notable among them is the Best Pearl Millet research project by All India project co-ordinator and Certificate of appreciations by AICPMIP. He is also the recipient of Pioneer Global Award A.I.R (Achievements In Research) for extra ordinary research in millet, 1st in Asia.
He has strong networking with public institutions and is currently serving as chairperson for Hybrid parent research consortium for Millet, Sorghum and Pigeon pea at ICRISAT. He also served as an advisory committee member of CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs) at ICRISAT on dryland cereals from 2013-2015.
