R&D-Vegetable Crops

To develop novel hybrids with high added value that meets future demands of our valued customers.  SeedWorks involved in vegetable breeding  using latest technologies like biotechnology, molecular biology and  plant breeding.

SeedWorks has started vegetable research in the year 2017-2018 by keeping a mission of  “provide superior seed solution by harnessing technology and innovation to create value for all stakeholders in a sustainable manner”. We have R & D centres at Bangalore and Hyderabad, Molecular lab at Singapore and testing centres at Pune and Surat.  Presently doing research on core crops like Tomato, Chilli, Okra and Cucurbits.

  • Development of hybrids against Tospo and heat tolerance
  • Development of  ToLCV+ Powdery mildew tolerant hybrids in Bitter Gourd
  • Gene introgression for development of different Tomato lines with Ty genes, BW, Phytophthora diseases
  • QTL marker development in Chilli for ChiLCV (Chilli Leaf curl virus)
