SeedWorks @ CII Agro & Food Tech: India – International Food & Agri Week

CII in association with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Fisheries & Animal Husbandry & Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, organized its first-ever Virtual CII Agro & Food Tech: India – International Food & Agri Week scheduled from 16th  – 22nd October 2020 on CII HIVE – virtual platform.

The event was inaugurated on 16th Oct’20 followed by a special session by Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr Yogi Adityanath. While addressing the session, He emphasized “On the front of Agriculture and Food production, India is a self-reliant nation having a record output of Cereals, Fruits, Vegetables & highest production of milk in the world. Further, India is maintaining sustainable food security despite a steady increase in population, rising living standard of people & the pandemic. Concerned with the plight of farmers, Govt. made a clarion call for doubling the farmers’ income by 2020 and devised a sound roadmap to achieve the target”.

The event Enlighted & unified players from different sectors with an intent to create a platform for the benefit of the stakeholders involved in the agriculture & allied sectors. More than 8000 registered delegates and 100 stalls were present at the event. There was showcase of more than 1000 products from 120+ exhibitors along with International Participation from United Kingdom, Canada, Indonesia, UAE and Exclusive Pavilion of Punjab Government.

It was an overwhelming opportunity for SeedWorks as one of the sponsors for the event and to be a part of the Exhibition Centre. The Virtual mode of the conference brought together many knowledge Leaders from various sectors. Mr Venkatram Vasantavada (MD & CEO) SeedWorks International Pvt. Ltd. was part of the panel discussion on “Seeds- Analysing policies to improve agriculture productivity, Growth & Sustainability” held on 18 October 2020. He focussed on the use of natural resources more sustainability to preserve available land, water, and biodiversity resources, and respond to climate change. He also presented the challenges & opportunities in the agriculture sector and the need to embrace innovative approaches to improve productivity in a sustainable manner.

Valedictory Session of Cll Agro & Food Tech 2020 held on 22 October 2020. The weeklong CII Agro & Food Tech 2020 came to an end with an overwhelming response and participation from all the concerned stakeholders. The Valedictory Session happened over the virtual platform. Honourable Shri V P Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh was the Chief Guest at Valedictory Session.
