FICCI- Agri Summit & Awards: Envisioning Smart & Sustainable Agriculture, Nov 17-18, 2021
FICCI organized Agri Summit & Awards: Envisioning Smart & Sustainable Agriculture, Nov 17-18, 2021, on Virtual Platform. It was a two day first of its kind initiative that brought together a diverse spectrum of stakeholders of the agriculture sector to discuss and recommend workable pathways for the promotion and adoption of sustainable agricultural practices on a large scale and to generate awareness on the already available solutions for smart and sustainable agriculture. Yes Bank was the knowledge partner, and SeedWorks was the supporting partner in the initiative. During the event, a knowledge report titled “India Beyond 75: Envisioning Smart and Sustainable Agriculture” was released.
There were 4 Plenary Sessions planned on 17th November on the topics:
- Strengthening Agri-Inputs for sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and Farm Incomes
- Post-Harvest interventions for sustainable supply chain
- Impactful partnerships for climate resilient agriculture
- Partnership with BRICS nation for sustainable agricultural development
CEOs and corporate leaders from the agri-food industry policymakers, multilateral and bilateral institutions, NGOs, academicians, researchers, embassies, financial institutions, development organizations, and others will attend the summit. A major component of the summit was the felicitation of Excellence Awards to agribusinesses/organizations who had done significant level of on-ground interventions in sustainable agriculture development.
The jury panel included eminent members from agricultural fraternity Dr Harsh Bhanwala, Ex- Charman NABARD, Ex-CD/CMD of IIFCL, Mr T Nanda Kumar, Ex-Secretary Agriculture, GOI, Dr Rashid Sulaiman, Director Centre for Research on Innovation and Science Policy, Mr Harsh Damodaran, Senior Fellow, Centre for Policy Research and Mr T Kesavan, Chairman FICCI, National Agriculture Committee & Group President, TAFE ltd.
