Carlos Saplala has been involved in the hybrid rice program as early as 1998 when the technology was first being introduced in the Philippines. He has 20 years of work experience in ag seeds including starting up the seeds business for Hoechst AgrEvo, Aventis and Bayer. Early in his career he also worked with ag projects funded by the USAID.
He is known to take ownership in projects and led the setting up of the SeedWorks operations in the Philippines in 2007. His entrepreneurial spirit has furthered the company in creating a sustainable business where he has initiated the product development work, established the legal entities, developed business processes and trade channel distribution system.
He is a graduate of BS Agribusiness and also holds an MBA degree from the University of the Philippines.
