Anil Choudhary

Director

When National Bulk Handling Corporation Ltd (NBHC) was set up in 2005 as the warehousing subsidiary of a listed conglomerate, it was Anil Choudhary who visualized and spearheaded the venture from the outset. It was a period when the collateral management and logistics business was getting more organized and private sector players were entering the field. Financial transactions in agricultural commodities were beginning to take shape. Over the last decade, Anil has nurtured and built NBHC to its pre-eminent position in that sense, he is considered to be the ‘father of the Indian agri-warehousing industry’.

At the time that he launched NBHC, Anil was on deputation from the State Bank of India to MCX, having already spent over two decades in the banking sector. He had risen to a senior management level in SBI where he handled numerous challenging and high-profile assignments in areas such as credit, international and branch banking. Anil also worked extensively in branches in rural and semi-urban areas dealing with farm and SME credit.

Anil has been nominated by CII on its National Council on Agriculture and led a CII delegation to the Parliament’s Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, to present the industry’s viewpoint on the Warehousing (Development & Regulation) Bill, 2005.
